I’m Sage Ford, a student-athlete with a passion for soccer, academics, and making a difference both on and off the field. I am currently a freshman at Grove City High School in Central Ohio, playing for Pride Soccer Club. I have been playing soccer since I was four years old, and over the years, I have developed into a hardworking, tenacious defender with strong leadership qualities.
Beyond soccer, I am dedicated to excelling academically, carrying a 4.1 weighted GPA while taking advanced coursework. My ultimate goal is to pursue a pre-med track and become an OB/GYN. I am currently working toward playing soccer in college while continuing my academic journey at a school that values both excellence and community.
My passion project has been focused on improving how students connect with nonprofit volunteer opportunities. By reaching out to students, teachers, counselors, and nonprofit organizations, and by creating surveys to identify barriers on both sides, I have been gathering and analyzing feedback to develop a proposal for a potential app designed to make volunteer engagement more practical, accessible, and impactful.
Fun fact: I have had the opportunity to play for Coach Erin (Taylor) Blount for several years. As a Hall of Fame defender from the University of Maryland, former ACC Player of the Year, U.S. National Team pool player, and former Ohio State assistant coach, she has had a profound influence on my game.

Defensive specialist with a strong tactical understanding.

"This season's Nash Award recipient is a player who embodies the qualities of a great teammate and because of this, has the trust of her teammates. At practices you could constantly hear her acknowledging her teammates when they did something well and encouraging them through difficult times. From her first day in the weight room she was not afraid to speak up. Throughout the season she was explicit, direct, firm, and caring in addressing her teammates when we knew we could be doing better. Without prompting from the coaches, this player initiated high fives between reps and picked teammates up after a tough fitness session. She was the first to grab a goal or carry equipment after practice, even if it was not her week to help. She is always willing to step up for her teammates. To quote Steve Nash, “I think the measure of a person’s life is the effect they have on others.” Her effort and encouraging attitude are contagious to those around her. She is by nature, a great teammate and an inspiring leader. This year's Grove City Girls Soccer Nash Award recipient is freshman Sage Ford."
